Prince clearly knows art. The gorgeous cover of this novel is, in fact, his own work. His knowledge of both technique and the art world itself comes through clearly in this book. The unique shift in point of view, from Jessica to her captor, both in the present and past, is an interesting way to move the story forward and also to explain the complicated history that these two characters share. The relationship that develops between the two is both understandable and reminiscent of Stockholm syndrome at the same time. Oct 23, Charlotte Leslie rated it it was amazing. Siren's Barbarian Captor This is a really good book. It didn't take me long to read it. It has a variety of species involved in the book. It is a possibility of what could happen to the earth in the future. Species cross breeding, barbarians, all technology lost. Being conquered from descendants of humans that breed with aliens. People on earth being transformed into a new species and still some that stayed human. Loved the cross breeding of a merman with a siren.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author. There is a lot of story packed into a short page count. Celeste and Kradr have a good bit of heat, but there is also tenderness between them. I did find there relationship a bit too quick, especially considering Celeste's past, but if you don't mind insta-love, then this a great, quick read.
